sanuvox UV coil cleaning

UV Coil Cleaners - Background

Now thanks to Sanuvox UV coil cleaners are nUV coil cleaner systems have been commonplace in commercial HVAC systems the US and Canada for many years. ow available in the UK and Europe. The problem with fan coils and cooling coils in HVAC systems is that they can, even with the benefit of prefiltration, become a breeding ground for biological contaminants. Over time slime can build up on the coils. This not only poses a health issue to the occupants of the building but also reduces the thermal efficiency of the coils and increases the pressure drop that the system fan has to overcome to get the air to go through the coil. Manually cleaning coils is an expensive business, and risks damage to the delicate fins. Using systems from the Sanuvox UV coil cleaning range, this problem does not materialise. With Sanuvox, clean coils stay clean. The system is basically an array of UV lamps, each with an aluminium parabolic reflector that basks the coil in an intense UV light of exactly the right wave length to be lethal to biological contaminants

UV Coil Cleaners - Detail

The patent pending Sanuvox CoilClean UV purifiers are designed to prevent and destroy mould and other microbial contaminants from rooftops coils, fan coils, walk-in A/C coils and the air. High-Intensity 19mm Quartz UVC (254nm) lamps and high output electronic ballasts paired with anodized aluminium parabolic reflectors make the CoilClean Series incredibly effective. The anodized aluminium parabolic reflectors are able to direct virtually all the UV energy onto the coil or the air. Besides increasing UV exposure, the reflector also protects plastics and wiring from destructive UV rays. It is worth remembering how much less powerful a torch or headlight would be without a reflector. UV light is no different. Reflection is needed to direct the UVC energy where needed most. Using any other UV lamp or emitter will result in losing more than half the UV Intensity. Sanuvox UV CoilCleaners also ensure that the drain pan in air handling units is kept biologically clean.

Sanuvox Coil Cleaner - Research

In a two-year double-blind study published in The Lancet Medical Journal sponsored by The Medical Research Council and The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), McGill University Researchers found Sanuvox UV CoilClean Purifiers to

  • reduce microbiological and endotoxin concentrations by 99%
  • reduce respiratory symptoms by 40%
  • reduce all symptoms by 20%

Sanuvox Coil Cleaner - Bonus

The health benefit of these systems is an added bonus. Even coil cleaners, designed to keep coils clean actually reduce respiratory symptoms in the buildings occupants by 40%. Using the Sanuvox in-duct air purifiers, like Biowall that are designed to biologically cleanse the moving air in the duct produces even more clear reductions in symptoms. The bottom line with reduced symptoms is that this in turn reduces absenteeism, thereby increasing the efficiency of the investment in staff.

Sanuvox Coil Cleaner - Competitor Comparison

Because Sanuvox use far better quality UV lamps (their own design and manufacture), and because they mount them in parabolic reflectors which add structural strength as well as much more concentrated UV intensity, they use far fewer lamps to achieve the same effect as any competitor installation. Moreover, Sanuvox lamps also last far longer and are guaranteed to last 12000 hours, which is around 10000 hours longer than typical competitors lamps.
